About Ellen

Ellen Mason is the author of the debut novel "No Space for Love" and is working on her next book.

As a personal life/business coach, Ellen had seen and heard a multitude of interesting stories telling of the internal struggles people have had as they overcame various obstacles in their quest for success on their own terms. Then she met Adam who told her, "In North Korea, they leave you NO space for love. I don't know love - is it a bowl of rice?"

She was rocked by the raw emotion of the gutwrenching story of how these two youngsters, who had never known or understood what freedom was, came to realize that was exactly what they wanted and needed. At that time, she knew she had to tell the story of internal struggles, betrayals, and heart-breaking choices these two kids faced as well as the deep friendships and kindnesses enjoyed as they navigated the harsh realities of life in the most oppressive societies to life in the United States.

She felt other Americans should hear and experience what some immigrants to the U.S. have gone through to have what we so chauvinistically take for granted. This is her debut novel.

Born and raised in Iowa, Ellen Mason got her bachelor's degree from Stephens College, then a nursing degree, and graduated from the Mayo Clinic School of Anesthesiology in Rochester, MN. After spending several years in the operating room, she owned several small businesses before graduating from Coach University. It was while doing personal/business coaching that she got most of her public speaking and writing experience.

Ellen lives in Phoenix, AZ with her psychologist husband and their beautiful Himalayan kitten. Her hobbies are reading and traveling. She loves skiing, golf, hiking, and water sports especially fresh and saltwater fishing.

Of course, reading and writing remain her favorite past times and more books are planned.
